The ANC President Ramaphosa, delivered the January 8 statement on behalf of the ANC NEC, to mark the 109th Anniversary of the movement, the National Executive Committee (NEC) has planned a series of engagements involving the ANC’s Top 6 leadership under the theme for 2021 -“Unity, Renewal and Reconstruction in the year of Charlotte Maxeke

To this end, and at the invitation of the Top 6 Officials are to hold a virtual (Zoom) engagement with representatives of South African black businesses on 19 January 2021 from 15h00-17h30.

The ANC’s Progressive Business Forum (PBF) as an ANC programme of liaison between Government, the Party and Business, under the authority of the ANC Treasurer-General, Cde Paul Mashatile, has been mandated to facilitate the event on behalf of the Top 6 officials.

The present format planning is to have a panel of representatives from black business, who would make inputs following an address by President Ramaphosa and the Top 6 Officials. Following the remarks of the panelists, a moderated discussion and Q and A session is planned and which questions participants would submit electronically and be relayed to the Top 6 officials and panelists for reply.

It would be of significant importance to the event to hear the perspectives of black business and to gain greater insights and understanding of business-related issues for the purpose of promoting discussion and participation in a positive and constructive manner, the very purpose indeed of the engagement.

The session would likely last for about two and a half hours in total.
